Potential disaster alert: It’s Tuesday in Baltimore and you’ve run out of kale. Lucky for you, there’s no need to wait until the weekend to re-stock your kitchen with produce from local farms. Baltimore has an abundance of farmer’s markets in all parts of the city, on all days of the week. Our roundup of a week’s worth of fresh produce is below. Got a favorite we didn’t mention? Let us know in the comments.
MONDAY
Farmers seem to like to take Mondays off, so you’ll have to trek a little farther to get your fix on Mondays — to the Anne Arundel Medical Center‘s parking lot in Annapolis, to be exact. From 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., rain or shine.
TUESDAY
Hidden Harvest Farm got its start in a formerly vacant lot on Calvert Street in Station North in 2011, and just one year later it’s thriving enough to share its bounty at a Tuesday afternoon farm stand. Stop by Tuesdays from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., on Calvert Street between Lafayette and North.
(We’re also fans of the Tuesday Market in Lauraville.)
WEDNESDAY
Throughout the summer season (and into early fall), the Mt. Washington Farmers’ Market takes over the grassy area between Whole Foods and Starbucks on Wednesday evenings from noon to 6 p.m.
THURSDAY
The Towson Farmers’ Market, on Allegheny Avenue between York Road and Washington Avenue, boasts all the usual fruits, vegetables, and flowers — but also gently-used clothing, purses, snacks, soaps, and plenty of other treats to woo you away from the mall. Neither a morning market nor a post-work stop, the market’s slightly-awkward hours are from 10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.
FRIDAY
The Charles Street Friday Market takes over Lanvale Street right next to the Charles Theater in Station North from 4-8 p.m. on Fridays. This one tends to have a happy hour vibe, with live music, beer, and more prepared foods than fresh produce, in our experience.
You can find an even-more-complete listing of Maryland’s farmers markets here.
Those are all great places to go. If you want to support more Baltimore-based farms like Hidden Harvest, check out the page below for some other produce vendor stands on Monday – Saturday.

love this – no excuses for not going local – great piece, rachel!
There’s also the Highlandtown Farmers’ Market on Thursday evenings from 4 p.m – 8 p.m. at the corner of Conkling and Eastern Avenue.
