Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival has announced its daily lineups, which include 14 bands across two alternating stages with no overlapping music, so no FOMO!
The festival takes place Sept. 21 and 22 at Sandy Point State Park and highlights regional and national bluegrass, jamgrass, funkgrass, and Americana music. There are lots of other activities, including interactive workshops, beachside yoga, yard games, children’s activities in the KidZone, and shopping from local craft vendors.
The focus, though, is the music.
Oteil & Friends headlines Saturday, Sept. 21, with Oteil Burbridge and a stellar cast of musicians: Melvin Seals, Steve Kimock, Jason Crosby, Johnny Kimock, Tom Guarna, and Lamar Williams Jr.
“Saturday also hosts Leftover Salmon; Trouble No More (celebrating the iconic early catalogue of the Allman Brothers Band featuring Brandon “Taz” Niederaurer, Dylan Niederauer, and others to form an all-star cast); Sam Bush; Sierra Hull; The Lil Smokies; and Baygrass House Band Geraldine,” reads the press release.
Appearing on Sunday, Sept. 22 are The Infamous Stringdusters; Kitchen Dwellers; Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country; Cris Jacobs & Friends; Brown Eyed Women (all female Grateful Dead tribute ensemble featuring Joni Bottari, Dana Carroll, Caroline Killoh, and Jill Paone Simmons), Big Richard (Colorado-based, neo-acoustic supergroup with Bonnie Sims, Joy Adams, Hazel Roye, and Eve Panning); and The Dirty Grass Players.
Throughout the weekend, there will also be Artists-at-Large performing, like trumpeter and vocalist Jennifer Hartswick and trombonist and vocalist Natalie Cressman (both of Trey Anastasio Band), along with saxophonist Ron Holloway (member of The Warren Haynes Band and frequent guest of Gov’t Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and The Allman Brothers Band).

Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival aims to bring more than music to the fore. Founders spotlight mental health issues and Chesapeake Bay conservation as well. They donate a portion of their proceeds to nonprofits working to protect and restore the Bay, and The VA Way, which works to improve the mental health of veterans, musicians, and their communities.
“The Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival was born out of our team’s love of progressive bluegrass music, the desire to generate a fun community-oriented vibe, and a passion for protecting the Chesapeake Bay,” said Ron Peremel, co-founder and CEO of the festival, in a statement. “The Baygrass philosophy is to help people learn about conservation, sustainability, and mental health—in a way that combines education with fun. ’Every Jam Helps a Mind’ and ‘Every Jam Saves the Bay,’ as we like to say!”
